The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show

[ 0 ] October 27, 2009 | Jamie

The Metro Ski and Snowboard Show was again really good fun!

I was there for 5 days riding in the demo’s which was on the 50ft snowflex jump in the middle of Olympia. The jump took some getting used to as it was a very steep drop-in, straight to a long but whippy jump.

I have always enjoyed going to the Ski show as you get to see all the industry and people you know. Its kind of a big get together and you get to catch up with everyone you know, that you don’t get to see very often. One of the highlights of the week was when Jeremy Sladen form TSA invited JP Solburg over so he could support his snowboard brand ”YES”. He was such a great person to meet and he was stoked to see the 50ft Snowflex jump in the middle of Olympia.

Every day for 5 days we had to hit up the snowflex jump and do demos for the crowd which was really good fun. Sometimes the crowd was really loud which made us ride much harder; and sometimes trying new tricks. In the demos they were me, Andy Nudds, Sparrow Knox, Jack Shackleton for the snowboarding. Sam Cullum was the 5th rider but unfortunately got really hurt on the practice day, which was on Tuesday. I really hope he gets better. For the skiers there was James Woods, Paddy Graham, Murray Buchan, James Webb and James Machon. It was such a great crew and it was fun riding together in the demos.

The Invitational competition was on Friday, the standard was amazing everyone pretty much spinning 7s of the jump. I had such a good day and I came 1st which I was so stoked on. Read more about it on: http://whitelines.com/news/jamie-nicholls-wins-british-invitational-champs.html

So it was the same again, doing the demos till Sunday and it ended well. Got home safe and next is Freeze at Battersea, YEH!
