3^rd February, Chamonix

We set of from Morzine to go hit a powder jump in Chamonix, there was me, Scott Mcmorris, Johno Verity, James Stentiford, Stu Monk who was filming and Dan Milner taking photos.

It was a great session as it was my first proper powder jump. We all set of hiking from one of the chairlifts, but can’t say where as it’s a secret place! But it was a great hike and when we got to the spot we started building, at first it was windy and rubbish visibility.

When we were half way through building it became clear sky’s and sunny, perfect conditions for getting great shots.

When we started hitting the jump I had a couple of bad falls but it was still loads of fun, after that I got the hang of it and started landing some tricks. Johno and Scott were both killing it and I learnt a lot from everyone there and cant wait to do it again, which will be pretty soon.

We finished around 5 in the afternoon and headed back down one of the shoots that lead’s down into Chamonix. It was a great day and it was a great experience. Now off to Munich!

29^TH January in Chamonix, I was riding on Brevent for most of the day as the visibility was not so good anywhere else. We did some hiking for most of the day riding on the hotel face. I was riding with James Stentiford and Andy lagan, which was fun. James has a comp further right of the hotel face on the Sunday for the Nissan Freeride Tour, so he was analysing all day. 

At the end of the day we went down one of the shoots that lead down to the bottom of the valley. The snow was ok, not the best but still loads of fun! Now I think I am going to head back to Morzine and ride some park. Then coming back to Chamonix later next week!

Hey….

I have been in Chamonix for 2 days now, but yesterday we headed to the Avoriaz park to shoot some ”How Too” for Whitelines Snowboard Magazine with Dan Milner who was shooting the photos, Johno Verity who was filming and James Stentiford. It was a great day as there was no wind and it was sunny; everyone was riding the jumps including Scott Mcmorris, Sam Cullum and even Johno and James were throwing down in the park too. After we got the photos done we all went to the cafe for a hot chocolate and a sandwich, after that it was time to head down as everyone was tired. So we all enjoyed a home run down to Prodan, which is at the bottom of Avoriaz. Then we had an hours drive back to Chamonix!

Today was a down day as it was snowing pretty heavily, so we just slept in, watched some films and went looking for hand rails around Chamonix which was a good end to the day.

I am so stoked! Today was the finals of the BEO Slopestyle and i was so pleased to finish 13th out of 118 riders which competed in the slopestyle.

Following on from the Oneill Evolution it was the BEO, I was really looking forwards to it as i wanted to get further than i did last year. 

Over the week i have made it through 2 qualifications and a semi final. I am now in the Finals which is on Friday 15th, I am so happy to make it to the last 16 riders in a 6 star TTR Slopestyle competition. Its my best achievement so far so its such a great feeling. The weather has being great all week except from the semi final today as it was flat light and snowing but it still went really well. I am now looking forwards to competing on Friday and it has being a great experience getting to the finals.
